NOTES FROM COUNTY HOSPITAL

Mrs. Guy Merriman of Jordan township underwent a major operation Friday afternoon. Barney Dewitt of Fair Oaks entered the hospital Sunday for medical attention and at this writing his condition is quite serious. Mary, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. IHayes Preston on Park avenue, had her appendix removed Monday. ' . Mrs. Elbert Harris had her tonsils removed Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Simpson of near Morocco were brought to the hospital. Monday evening, the former suffering with pneumonia and the latter with grip. Juanita Dewell, eleven, of Dayton, Oregon, cut off her beautiful chestnut curls to help win the war. She then notified an officer of the National Security League that she wished the hair to be sold in Portland, Oregon, and that the money be used in buying war savings' stamps.
