CLOSING EXERCISES OF PAROCHIAL SCHOOL

The patrons of St. Augustine s church and school showed their appreciation of the work done in the past school year by their generous attendance at the formal close of the school at the church on Sunday evening, May 26. After having delivered an address very appropriate to the occasion the pastor, Rev. Father Daniel, proceeded to distribute in order the promotion cards, awards for punctual attendance, and lastly, the diplomas to the eleven graduates. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was then given, and after this the beautiful and benefitting hymn, “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name,” was sung in acknowledgement for the blessings bestowed upon the school, the teachers and the pupils in the past years. Quite a number of the pupils attending the school besides many others have been taking lessons in instrumental music from the Sisters. These, too, will give the following musical program at the Parochial School hall on Wednesday, May 29, at 2:30 p. m. All lovers of musio are most cordially invited to attend. Admission free to all.
