FRANCTSVILLE (From the Tribune) Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Moncel’, north of town, February 22, a i son. Francis and John Roberts of El Paso, Illinois, have been guests at the home of Peter Huguet thia I week. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. VonTobel are the parents of a daughter which, came to their home Tuesday morning. The lumber king now has three sons and a princess. Hal Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. 11. A. Myers, who has been located iat South Bend for several months, has enlisted in the army service and is now at Camp Hancock, Augusta, Georgia. Miss Nellie Einmart of Lafayette I came Saturday evening for a few days’ visit with her sister. Mrs. O. D. Engle. Miss Einmart is in the 1 shoe department of the S'hultz store ’ in Lafayette. Charles McKinney of Ft. Wayne, cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Myers ' and Mrs. JI. A. Myers, who has been I their guest during the paht week, left for Indianapolis where he intended to enlist in the navy. Dr. John Hanssoh of Rensselaer, sale 8 agent for Overland cars In Jasper and .most of Pulaski county, was here last Thursday and contracted with the Farmers' Elevator company to handle cars this season.. Stephen Thrasher is in a critical condition at his home in the east part of town, having suffered from I a stroke of paralysis since Saturday evening. His daughter, Mrs. Brltty Williams, of Springfield, Tennessee, arrived Sunday evening, been informed by wire of her father’s sudden illness. Ira Shafer of Fort Hunt, Virginia, who has been here on a'fiveI day furlough, returned today. Ira i is looking fine and is physically fit for foreign service. lie expects to go to France in the near future to join the forces on the western front, where the one great battle of the war is expected to take plac during the summer. Ira runs up to Washington occasionally to enjoy the sights of the capitol. A very sad and unexpected death was that of Mrs. Charles Harbrecht, Which occurred at the family residence southwest of Francesville Friday morning at 4 o’clock. The cause of her death was pneumonia, from which she had been sick but a few days, having suffered a relapse after attending the funeral of a friend. Mrs. Harbrecht leaves a husband, daughter, parents and two brothers, William Schleman of Valparaiso and Charles Schleman of ’ Rensselaer. The fnneral was hell at the Salem Evangelical church ' Monday afternoon, Rev. Weiss officiating.
