Ollie Dempsey, aged thirty-eight, was instantly killed, and William Mason was slightly injured when the automobile in which they were riding overturned south of Logansport Sunday night. The hotel at Paris, Illinois, and several other buildings in the business district of that city were destroyed by fire Monday morning, entailing a loss of $300,000. The fire started in the laundry room of the hotel. Frank Warner, who is alleged to have attempted to kill his wi/fe and children at Wolcott recently, and who, it is alleged, set fire to his barn that was destroyed, has been taken to the criminal insane department of the Indiana state prison. Dr. Oscar W. Edmonds, aged fifty-seven, who was to have taken his seat as mayor of Frankfort a few weeks ago but collapsed from ill health a few days previous, died at his home Sunday. Mr. Edmomds was one of six Republicans of Frankfort who were indicted some time ago by the federal grand jury at Indianapolis on tihe charge of vote buying. He was under $5,000 bond at the time of his death.
