COX MAKES SERIOUS CHARGES
Says F. C. Baird Represents Lake Coal Shipping Pool. Columbus, O„ Dec. 14.—1 n a final effort to relieve tin* serious coal situation in Ohio, Gov. James Cox is preparing charges which, he declares, will be forwarded to President Wilson at once against F. C. Baird of Cleveland, head of the lake coal shipping pool. Governor Cox, In his statement, will charge that Mr. Baird represents the coal operators ami not the interests of the industrial and domestic consumers, and \yill demand his dismissal. Dr. 11. A. Garfield, federal fuel administrator,. will be asked for an explanation of why he appointed Mr, Baird, whb is referred to by Governor Cox as “the hired man” of the operators.
