LETTERS FROM OUR READERS
TELLS OF CAPTURE OF HUNS Vern Davisson Sends Brief Letter to His Parents From France. On the Front, Oct. 25, 1917. Dear Father and Mother —I am well and hope you are all the same. I an* out on a reserve “poste” tonight. The French had a big victory Wednesday, captured 8,000 Germans, sixty large cannon, etc. The French all have a smile today. It is still rainy and cold. We may be changed to Ford cars if we go to the mountains. General Pershing was in the second line trenches while the attack was going on, watching the proceedings. Sam is going in the aviation. Answer soon. With love, VERN C. DAVISSON.
