THOMAS HOYES IS INJURED
Severely Hurt in Fall From Top of Electric Light Pole. Thomas Hoyes, electric lineman for the city, was severely injured Thursday evening about 6:30 o’clock when he fell about twenty feet from a junction pole near the Catholic church. His right arm was fractured near the wrist, his right hip was injured and possibly fractured, and he was aflso severely bruised and cut about the face. Mr. Hoyes had ascended the pole a few moments before to remedy a (disconnection in the circuit that left the southeastern part of the city in darkness. He had reached the transformer box and passed his/ safety belt about the pole and ifU. tended to snap the same as usual. "Wihether he failed in this or the snap in some manner gave way is not known, but he fell heavily to the ground. He called for help and W. V. Porter and Frank Alter heard him and he was carried by them into Mr. Porter’s residence nearby. A physician was summoned and with hie assistance Mr. Hoyes was removed to his home just north of the light plant. The full extent of his injuries have not yet been determined, and possibly can not be for several days.
