Mrs. E. A. Merrill and Goldia Hurley were Rensselaer godrs Tuesday. Mrs, T. J. Parker spent Tuesday night with S. L. Johnson and family of Monon. Mrs. Lyde Ward and children spent Sunday with Mrs. Jasper Cover and children. Mrs. T. J. Parker spent the last of last week with Mr. and Mrs. James Davis of Kersey. Dr. Linton was called out to Otha Spriggs Wednesday evening to see their little daughter. Orpha and Myrtle Parker and Homer Daniels spent Sunday with Nile, Jimmie and Harry' Britt, T. J. Parker and son Everett attended the Liberty loan meeting held at Gifford Wednesday evening. S. L. Johnson and family of Monon spent Saturday night and Sunday with James Davis and family of Kersey. Mrs. Ores Cunningham and daughter Mary took dinner Sunday with Mrs. T. J. Parker and daughters, Orpha and Myrtle.
Eli Wood of Monon spent last week here, visiting friends. , Mr. and Mrs. John Mellendei spent Sunday at Frank Overton’s. Frank Eldridge shipped several bushels of onions to Chicago Thursday. Hubert Maxwell accidentally cut his foot Tuesday while chopping wood. Miss Eva Hoult is assisting Mrs. S. M. Jacks with her fall housecleaning. Mrs. Ida Lewis is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stewart. The latter’s health is not very good. Mrs. C. A. Holeman is improving very slowly. She is bothered with stomach and heart trouble. H. C. Anderson and wife and Eli Wood went from church Sunday to Gifford Marrs’ for dinner. C. A. Letter is remodeling his house, which will add to their comfort very much as well as to its appearance. George Holeman and Mable and Dale came Friday evening of last week and accompanied his wife and baby Rosemary home -Sunday afternoon. The Red Cross ladies sewed at Mrs. Gifford Marrs’ Wednesday afternoon Next Wednesday afternoon they will met at Mrs. C. E. Noland's. Sherman Lewis and wife and son George and wife and baby from Mitchell, South Dakota, were here visiting friends and relatives last week. George and family spent Thursday night with Morris Jacks and family, and Sherm and wife stayed Thursday night at J. H. t Culp’s. They are doing well in their new home.
