The price of live hogs in t’he city markets has dropped nearly 5 cents per pound in the past ten days. Robert Fitzimmons, a former heavyweight champion pugilist of the world, died in a Chicago hospital Monday afternoon after five days’ illness of pneumonia. He was 55 years old. Paul O. Husting, United States senator from Wisconsin, was accidentally shot and killed by his brother near their home at Mayville early Sunday. Senator Husting was a Democrat and was elected in 1914 to succeed Isaac Stephenson. General John T. Wilder, civil war veteran and member of t'he Chickamauga national park commission, died at Jacksonville, P’lorida, Saturday, aged almost 8 8 years. tie enlisted in the civil war from Indiana and rose from the rank of private until he became commander of the brigade known as “Wilder’s Lightning Brigade.’’ General Wilder was a native of Greene county, New York, where he was born January 31, 1830. Yesterday’s Lafayette Journal: Mrs. Michael J. Moynihan, daughter of the late Timothy O’Connor of Remington, died from nervous prostration Sunday night in Indianapolis where she was taken three weeks ago. She was married twenty years ago to Michael Moynihan. The body arrived in this city yesterday and was taken to the SollerHarrington parlors, from, where it will be removed to her home in Benton county today. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock at Barrydale, with burial in the Catholic cemetery at Fowler.
