Jack McDonald, also known as John Lane and John Lynch, murderer of Jimmy Leathers, proprietor of a Cedar Lake resort, has been identified as the man who shot and killed Policeman Peter Buffin of Chicago, and also took part in the robbery of the Chicago City bank' July 13. V Dr. Frank B. Cochrane, dentist, shot himself at his home in Delphi about 6 o’clock Thursday evening and died a short time later. Dr. Cochrane was coroner-elect of Carroll county and a son of the late Dr. I. N. Cochrane. He is survived by a wife and one son. He is said to have been drinking to excess for the past few weeks, which no doubt, prompted the act.
