Fred A. Sims, former secretary of state, former chairman of the Republican state committee in Indiana and well known as a member of the state board of tax commissioners for years, has been appointed a member of the state board of tax commissioners by Governor James P. Goodrich, to succeed Philip Zoercher, Democrat, who was appointed to serve an unexptred term several ° months ago. The appointment of Mr. Sims will entitle him to service on the board for a period of four years from September 1.
