From ancient times the eagle, as the king of birds,’ has been looked upon as the symbol of power. The American eagle is the native bald eagle and was firsuadopted on the seal of the United States on June 20, 1752. against the bitter opposition of Franklin. This patriot looked up to it as a Caesarian emblem and wanted to know what was the matter with the wild turkey, as being more distinctly American.
