Henry Field, grandson of the late Marshall Field, Chicago merchant and financier, died Sunday at the Presbyterian hospital in York, where he was operated upon for an abscess on one of his lungs. It had been announced that his condition was satisfactory and his death was unexpected. The body was taken to Chicago Monday Deer Creek, east of Monticello; was threatened • wiht destruction Saturday evening when Charles Martin struck a match to see how full the gasoline tank of his new Dodge auto was. The gasoline exploded and spread to the supply tank at the Spanger & Jones garage. The machine was enveloped in flames and Martin’s wife and children were rescued with difficulty.
