MR. GROUNDHOG IS CAPTURED
We hope that the weather situation will improve now. Mr. Groundhog has been captured alive and is now confined in a zinc-lined box and on exhibition in the store window of Hilliard & Hamill. This is the old he-son-bf-a-sea-cook himself. Sam Duvall captured him Monday out west of town on the former Mark Reed pla.ee together
with two youngsters, but the old gentleman’s wife got away ’and It may be that the weather will ba somewhat unsettled until she too 13 eliminated. Sam is on the watch for her and hopes to nab the old girl within a day or two. The old gentleman hasn’t a word to say, but sits on his paunch and looks defiance at the curious glances cast at him in his prison quarters: His teeth fire sharp as needles, and although Duvall had on three pairs of gloves, one a fur pair, he received one slight wound on the hand where the teeth of the animal -penetrated the several thicknesses of gloves. He was fortunate Indeed that he escaped so easily.
