PROPOSES BIGGER WAR TAX
Democratic Leader Thinks .SIO,OOO Income Enough for Anyone. Valparaiso, April 16. —James H, hfcGill, state Democratic leader of dry forces and pacifist, declared here today at a big patriotic meeting that, surely no American will keep more than a small per cent in excess of a SIO,OOO income, while he asks his neighbor to risk his life for much less." He suggested raising the pay of privates. “Let us make this a pay-as-you-enter war by taxing away the .’excessive profits and incomes until all debts incurred by war. are paid,” he said.
