$75.26 FOR NEWCASTLE RELIEF
Two Picture Houses and Churches - Realized That Sum Sunday. The two picture theaters, Star and Princess, which gave benefit shows Sunday afternoon for the relief of stricken Newcastle, realized the sum of $40.4 6, Which is to be forwarded to the relief committee. The Star theater reported total receipts of $28.95 and expensed of $2, leaving a net balance of $26.95. The Princess reported gross receipts of $22.85 and expenses of $9.34, leaving a balance of $13.51, making a total balance from the two houses of $40.46. Through the generosity of the film corporation from whom he secures his pictures in furnishing same free of charge for this show, Mr. Milliron was at no expense Other than operator’s charges, as he donated his own services as well as those of Mrs. Milliron. The ministerial association of Rensselaer, composed of the pastors of the four Protestant churches, opposed the giving of a Sunday show for this purpose and asked for a contribution from theirs respective congregations for the relief of Newcastle. This contribution netted the sum of $34.80, the Methodist church giving $17.60, the j Presbyterian sl4, Christion $2.10, and Baptist sl.lO.
