GET 500 MILES OF TERRITORY

I>ondon, March 19.—The greatest occupation of territory since the German sweep toward the Marffe thrilled England today. Allied forces this time are the gainers. The German line ihas given way. Nearly 500 miles of territory between the Arras and the Oise have been added to the allied holdings. The retreat has undoubtedly been hastened by the allies' unexpected superiority. They surprised the enemy in the vigor of their pursuits. But the lack of reports of any considerable loss of men or material indicate the withdrawal was anything but a disorderly retreat.
