The battle with Big, Foot’s band Of Indians at Knee creek. South Dakota, was fought December 29, 1890. Captain George D. Wallace of the Seventh cavalry and about thirty soldiers were killed, and Lieutenant Ernest A. Garlington of the Seventh cavalry and thirty-eight others were wounded. A large number of the Indians, Including forty-four squaws and about eighteen papooses, were killed.
