The spirit of “harmony” among
Republican officials at the state house speaks well for Democratic success in 1918. Governor Goodrich is constantly crying for more “executive power” and this idea is meeting with f strong opposition among the other Republican officials of the state. They are alive to the fact that the Democratic record was one of “government for, of and by the people,” and they can easily see the doom that awaits their party if Goodrich has his way. That the people of Indiana will be -glad to return the Democrats to power in two years is. the feeling that now exists around the state house.—Starke County Democrat.
