Jan. 12.—The!efforts to force a congressional investigation of the alleged information “leak" to Wall street on the Wilson peace note to the European belligerents, as well as the efforts to cite Thomas- W. Lawson for contempt of the house, collapsed and the whole investigation was abandoned.
