Mrs. O. K. Rainier returned Tuesday from a visit with her daughter at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Mr. Rainier went to Chicago and accompanied her home. Mr. Osburn had a fine horse killed by lightning Sunday might. The loss was partly covered by insurance. •>
Mrs. Alton Padgltt received a telegram from Indianapolis Monday announcing the death of her father’s cousin, Joseph Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty was one of the prominent citizens of the state capital. Many new dwelling houses in Rensselaer have been delayed in completion for several weeks because of the inability of local lumber dealers to get shingles, hut several shipments were received this week and building operations are now being pushed rapidly.
