WOMAN DOCTOR GOES TO PRISQN Pleads Guilty to Performing an Illegal Operation. Elkhart, October s.—Mrs. Alice iH. Horton, 68 years old, who had practiced medicine here many- years, pleaded guilty in the superior court today to a charge of performing an illegal operation upon Evelyn Gilbert, whose death last spring is alleged to have resulted from the operation. Mrs. Horton was indicted Friday on another charge of performing an operation upon Mrs. Goida Randolph. She was sentenced by Judge Harman to three to fourteen years in the woman’s prison> and was fined SIOO. Her trial for the first offense had been set for Monday and the woman was at liberty under $2,000 bond when arrested on the second indictment.
