Hot weather is worse than cold weather in one respect, which is th.v you can get warip when you are cold but it seems impossible to get con! when you are hot. But it beats cold weather all hoi low in other ways. When once cold i weather begins it brings with it ns ' hope of a speedy change. All von can do is to settle down to make the best of it and wonder whether spring is going to arrive on time or not | But a hot wave is temporary. One J ean go to bed on a sweltering night and have some reasonable hope thal the heat will not be on the job when he wakes in the morning. A hot wave has no chance at all in compe tition with a cool breeze, but a zero temperature gives the sun an awful battle before it breaks. J Then again a hot wave is a splendid thing for corn. The trouble with most of us in the hot weather is that we have neglected to plant corn. I» j is hard to be enthusiastic over dis , comfort if you have no interests at I stake. —Detroit Free Press.
