A Worthy Celebration.
That a centennial celebration can be made popular and yet of a very high standard, was again notably demonstrated at Corydon. The atmosphere of the observance was truly historic and patriotic. The pageant, staged about the historic old state house, was a real community effort and its distinct success justifies the claims made for pageantry as a means of community expression and co-operation. The participation of descendants of the historic charac-
ters involved, together with the use of some priceless heirlooms as pageant equipment, added greatly to the charm and effectiveness of the presentation. Every phase of the celebration w r as handled so capably by the Corydon people, under the leadership of County Chairman Thos. J. Wilson and of Lew M. O’Bannon of the commission, and the generous hospitality shown was so marked, as to make the Corydon observance a landmark in the memorable year 1916.
