Denham of Remington has moved to Brook, where he recently purchased the John Sell hardware store. Former County Commissioner Fred Waymire recently purchased the George Casey 200-acre farm in sections 13 and 18 Union tp., the consideration therefor, as stated in the deed, being $20,000.
In another part of today’s Democrat we publish a poem written by Miss Annabelle Baier. Miss Baier rendered tbis very appropriate poem at the. “Indiana day’’ exercises of school district X'o. 1, Carpenter tp.. last Friday.

March first was the opening date for filing mortgage exemptions in order to get credit on 19,1 G taxes. They can be filed any time between that date and the last day of April, but must be filed within that period. This law Ims been in force for a number Of years and the newspapers throughout the country have printed hundreds of columns about it. giving warnings and instructions, yet there are people each year who fail to exercise their rights at the proper time and the county auditor can not allow them to have the lawful sum deducted front their taxes.

and Monday a few of the boys and girls of forty years ago were entertained in their honor by the latter’s sister, Mrs. G. D. Gaunt, at Remington, and a tine time enjoyed in talking over old times and getting outside of the fine dinner and supper served. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly had been gone from here about 30 years. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Kelly, the guests of honor, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Michael and Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Welsh of Jordan tp.; Mrs John Kelly, Mrs. Barbara Bilile and Airs. D. A. Biekel of Remington. All were young folks again, and they enjoyed the occasion very much.— ONE OF THE GUESTS.
