Three Guilty, Jew Freed, in Sunday “Movie” Case.

Lafayette, Ind., March Ifi. -After being out for 20 hours the jury iu the Sunday “movie” case in the circuit court here returned a verdict today acquitting Misha Rubinoff of Sabbath desecration and finding Luke Lalte, David Maurice and Charles Reichard guilty. The case litis been in progress tor three weeks*. Rubinoff made the plea that as a Jew he observed Saturday as bis Sabbath. The defense contended the jury could not rightfully convict three defendants without convicting Rubinoff also. According to attorneys lor the state, the verdict means that Rubinoff was only the agent of the others.. The defense insists that the state’s fight was against tlie theory that a person observing the seventh day of the week as his Sabbath could not legally operate a theater on Sunday and that this point met defeat. The defense will make an argument lor a new trial.
