The bulldog battle ships are chained At anchor, kenneled in the bay; The swift, sleek cruisers doze and dream, Lank, supple-sinewgd, graceful gray; The restless beagle gunboats go ■ From point to point and sniff the sea; Torpedo boats lie long and low— The watch dogs of our liberty!
