HERE THERE and EVERYWHERE

The old court house at Delphi, which is to be sold soon at public auction to make place for a modern new structure, has been appraised for the purpose of such sale at SIOO. It certainly ought to sell, as the material therein Is worth many thousands of dollars and the structure itself is not in bad condition nor is it a bad looking building, although not in keeping with the modern idea of public buildings arid high taxes. The Hook murder cases have been set down for trial in the Pulaski circuit court on Monday, March 6, and by agreement the case of Samuel Hook, the father, will be tried first. Judge Bernetha of Rochester, owing to the Illness of his wife, has declined to try the cases and the attorneys have agreed upon Judge Burson of Winamac as the trial court. Attorney A. G. Jenkins of Logansport will assist Attorney W. J. Reed in the defense.—Starke County Democrat. Starke County Democrat: Mrs. F. J. Slight of Tefftj Ind., formerly Mrs. Ida Knosman of this city, has presented the Knox fire department with a $5 cash donation for the services rendered in saving her property at the time of the Short hitch barn fire. It is seldom that the services of our volunteer department are remembered in this substanttaT mapnet and its members wish to take this opportunity of publicly thanking Mrs. Slight for her kindness. The money will he used in the purchase of some needed equipment for the department.
