Fire Damages Mrs. Beam’s Millincry Store.

The millinery store of Mrs. \\ r . H’ j Beam in the Williams-Stockton j room on the north side of the public ; square was damaged several hun-i fired dollars by fire Saturday night,! caused, it is supposed, from an elec- \ trie flatiron, which evidently had not been disconnected when through i using. ■: ,' - The fire was discovered by Lester Rich, who was passing along the street in front thereof shortly after 11 o’clock. Young Rich went back to J. J. Montgomery's news store! and gave the alarm* and in a few momenta Jack had his fire company on the scene. .Considerable ..water had to be used in putting out the; flames and the. stock of millinery i was practically ruined as well as' some of the shelving burned and the interior of the room quite badly 1 blistered in places. Mrs. Beam carried S6OO insurance on her stock, which will probably cover her loss, and the damage to the building was not over $250 to S3OO,
