Rev. Titus Preaches Farewell Sermon.
The union service held, at the First Christian church Sunday night brought out a large congregation. The occasion was the farewell service and sermon of Rev. G. W. Titus, who has been pastor of the church for the pa«t sixteen months. The choir rendered splendid music. Dr. Paul C. Curnick spoke id behalf of the churches and expressed the high esteem in which Rev. Titus is held by the community, and wished him God-speed as he enters his new field of work as one of the field secretaries of the Indiana Anti-Sa-loon League. Rev. Titus, in response, thanked his church and congregation for their loyal support and expressed his appreciation of the kindness with which foe had been treated by the citizens of Rensselaer. His closing sermon was not a farewell address, but was a presentation of the power and attractiveness of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. Rev. Titus has moved to Indianapolis and he takes with him the good will of all his congregation and many friends, who desire to see him win eminent success in his new field of labor.
