Woman Fires at Youth in Hallowe’en Crowd; 1 Dying.
Lafayette, Ind., Nov. 1. —Stewart Flack, 23 years old, of Battle Ground, six miles north of this city, was injured, perhaps fatally, Saturday when he was shot while out with a crowd of his own age playing Hallowe’en pranks. When the crowd neared the home of Clarence Knowlton he appeared in his yard with a lantern and, seeing many merrymakers, called to his wife to bring him a revolver. She responded to the command and fired point blank into the crowd. The bullet struck Flack in the left hip. Knowlton and his wife have been arrested charged with shooting with intent to commit murder. They are being held without bail pending the outcome of Flack’s injuries.'
