White County Kept “Dry” by 3-tol Vote at Monon.
Efforts of the “wets” to obtain a foothold in White county failed Friday in the option election in Monon township, in which the "drys” won by a 3-to-l vote. The totals were: “Dry,” 437; “wet,” 150. The election follow’ed a heated campaign. Monon has been “dry” for several years and there are no saloons in the county. The vote by precincts was as follows: No. 1, "dry,” 96; J’wet,” 61; No. 2, “dry,” 131; “wet,” 23; No. 3, “dry,” 147; "wet,” 65; No. 4, “dry.” 63; “wet,” 2. "Drys” of the town of Left came here in a dozen automobiles and assisted in a demonstration, the Monon band playing several selections.
