James Resigns as Head of the? Dixie ■Highway Body. Chattanooga, Tenn., June 2. Charles E. James, president and director of the Dixie Highway Association, has forwarded his resignation to the chairman of the commission that fixed the route of the proposed road in a letter which said the commission exceeded !is authority in designating more than one route

through any' state. James announced it was his purpose to build a “short line’’ through Tennessee and Kentucky to the Ohio river “to Cincinnatj,. or Louisville, or both.’’ James asserted scant consideration was given the Dixie Highway Association by the commis<ir.n either in Chattanooga or Louisville.
