Station Thief Is Apprehended.
Fred Hix. alias Frank Chalmers, wanted by the police In a dozen cities, was arrested at his, mother's home in Milford, 111., j Sunday, morning by Detectives John A. Hayes of the Monon, "and George B. Sloan of the C. & E. I. Rys., and Teas taken to Lafayette where he was lodged in jail. Hix is wanted for robbing tfit> Union station at Reynolds, the Motion station at Monon, the Wabash station at Lafayette where lie" Took $lB9, the Wabash station at Danville, 111., and the C. & E. I. depot at Hoopeston, 111, In 1912 he was arrested for robbing the station at Battle Ground and was returned to the Jeffersonville reformatory from which he had been paroled after serving, five years on the charge of grand larceny. On being released in 1911 he once more began his old trade of robbing statiohs. He was caught by skillful detective work and will be returned at once to the reformatory.
