Tishimingo Promoter Sent to Federal Prison.

Morgan W. Cozart of Vincennes, Ind., promoter for the Tishimingo Tie and Stone Co., of Mississippi, and four others connected with the said company, was convicted in the federal court at Aberdeen, Miss., Saturday of using the U. S. mails to defraud, and sentenced to five years imprisonment in the federal prison and fined SSOO. His brother-in-law, E. G. Edwards, was tinea SSOO and sentenced to three months in jail. Agents of this company, and the company itself, which has cut considerable of a swath at Lafayette and other parts of Indiana, as well as in Georgia and Mississippi, have been criticised considerably of late in ..the newspapers, and Cozart recentjy had the editor of a Hoopeston ll*]., paper arrested for criminal libel and landed in jail for remarks made 'eoncerning it. The editor was refusied leave to see attorneys or procure bail, it is said, for some time after his arrest. It is not probable that Cozart will now push the “case'S against the Hoopeston editor. f
