Commissioners' Court Proceedings.

The county commissioners, by hard work, were able to finish up the busines of the December session Tuesday evening, but worked until about 8 o’clock. Following are the proceedings of the term, except claims allowed, of which there were a large number: Reuben C. Yeoman, stone road — Superintendent and surveyor certify completion of same, and highway is ordered kept as statute provides. Cause continued for report. Everett Halstead stone road— Final report approved, supt. discharged and bond relieved. Auditor directed to transfer from county revenue $230 appropriated by county council to this improvement and draw warrant for $l3B to George A. Williams, balance attorney fee, and $497.80 to Supt. A. M. Yeoman. Supt. ordered to pay himself $167.46. Lewis Zick stone road in Walker tp.—Charles ’ Cain, contractor, allowed $632.71, balance due him on roads No. 4 and 5. Frank Hill stone road in Jordan tp.—Contractor Frank Teach allowed $162.80. - . ■ . Nathan Steffen petition for ditch —Report of surveyor presented; remonstrators Charles Odem and Jas. W. Stephens each move rejection of report for reason that it contains no finding sufficient to support assessments. Motion overruled, evidence heard and board finds report not according to law, and same is referred back for amended report, to be filed on or before first day January term. Matter of shed for county roller— Contract awarded to Muster & Lane at $326.80. This shed will be built out at the county farm to provide shelter for the new county road roller.

Notice ordered given for letting of contract for stationery and other supplies for county officers at a special session to be held on Dec. 30. Matter or care and custody of Darrow Fross, a dependent child—Ordered committed to Julie E. Work training school until such time as he can be admitted to the school foi feeble-minded. Matter of Iva Sigman, dependent child—Truant Officer, C. B. Steward, reports that said child is now being cared for by Mrs. William Petty; that she is afflicted with catarrh to such an' extent that makes her presence in the public schools objectionable. Board orders that child be left with Mrs. Petty for the present at an expense to the county not to exceed that which same would cost at the Julia E. Work school. Matter Of supplies for poor asylum for next quarter—Contract awarded to the G. E. Murray Co. for drygoods at $39.95; to John Eger for groceries at $151.51; Roth Bros., meats at $32.

Interest on county funds in the various depositories for the month of December was reported as follows: First National Bank, Rensselaer. $ 145.65: Trust & Savings Bank. Rensselaer. $85.92; State Bank, Rensselaer. $90.38; State Bank. Remington, $7 1.83; Bank of Wheatfield* $22.68, Total. $416.46. Maurice Gorman petition for stone road in Jordan tp.—Report found sufflcient. no objections, no damages claimed or allowed. Improvement ordered and to follow in order and subsequent to the J. Wj Ditchings road. Same order in petition of Frank Fenwick for stone road in same tp. Chris Rousc-h stone road petition -'—William Keen and Frank Fenwick appointed viewers, and DeVere Yeoman. engineer, to .meet Dec. 15 at office of Jasper Guy in Remington and'quality, and report on or befort first day of January term. George H. May petition for stone road—Report examined and approved; no damages claimed or allowed. Auditor directed to advertise same. P. R. Blue allowed SIOO attorney fee. ■■■ ■ .
