5 AIRSHIPS ARE DESTROYED
Two Taubes Brought Down by Frenchman with Revolver. London, England, Oct. 27.—The Paris correspondent of the Express reports that five German aeroplanes were destroyed by the French. Two Taubes were brought down at Reims by a Single French aviator, he says, who succeeded in getting to a higher altitude than the Germans and then fired on them with a revolver. Two other German ‘‘birds'’ were hit by the guns of the Meharicourt forts near Montdidier. A fifth German airman was wounded by a rifle shot at Gravelines, a seaport 12 miles east-north-east of Calais.
