Chicago, Oct. 20.—Theodore Roosevelt began a busy 18-hour campaign for the Progressive ticket Monday The early forenoon was consumed In a dozen conferences with leaders of his party in Illinois and Indiana. Shortly before noon the colonel left for short speeches at Gary. Grasselll Indiana Harbor, East Chicago, Gibson’ Tolleston, Hessville and Hammond! towns Just over the line in Indiana! His addresses were in behalf of Al! bert J. Beveridge, Moose candidate for the United States senate from Indiana.

Monday night Mr. Rookevelt spoke in the Coliseum here. Election of Raymond Robins to the United States senate from Illinois and of the state ticket was the former president's theme.
