Rensselaer Men Held at Monon As Suspects.

Clifford Summer and Vern Sanders, who are employed at the Central garage, had a rather unpleasant experience at Monon Saturday night. They were going to Monticelo on a motorcycle and broke down just east of Monon. They returned to that place for repairs and were arrested by Constable Miller on suspicion of being the parties who broke into a store at Lee Thursday night. Miller kept them in charge all night in a restaurant there with a guard in charge, and is alleged to have mistreated them and slugged them. He kept them in charge until 9 o’clock Sunday morning, despite their explanations of who they were, it is alleged, when they were permitted to go, and they then came home on their machine.
