ML (). Gant Locating at Attica. I ——— Stone Bluff, Ind., Oct. 9, 1914. F. E. Babcock, Rensselaer, Ind., Dear Sir : 1 am visiting you again this year with $1.50 to renew my subscription to The Jasper County Democrat, which we sure would be homesick without. Will say 1 am closing out my store in Stone Bluff and if nothing prevents from what 1 know of now I will move to Attica, Ind., where I have contracted for a grocery store, thinking that 1 might better my condition by moving into a larger town. Trusting that this move may prove to my benefit, and wishing you and my Jasper county friends well, I remain. Yours respectfully, M. O. GANT. Mrs. S. I». Thornton Writes From Spokane, Wash. Spokane, Wash., Oct. 10, 1914, Mr. F. E. Babcock, Rensselaer, Ind. Dear Editor: You will please find enclosed money order for the amount of $1,50 to pay our subscription to The Democrat and thank you very much for the kindness shown us. We are now at Spokane to spend the winter with brother, V. H. Thornton, and family, so will ask you to please change the address of our. paper from Mt. Vernon, Wash., to 2603 Glass ave., Spokane, Wash. Husband is Still in failing health, but thought the change of climate might benefit him, though we are much taken with the country about Mt. Vernon. One field that had been sowed to oats for 40 years, gave a yield this year of 182 bushels per acre, though this year was the most extreme drouth Ijnown here in 35 years. The dairy industry is surely great, and yet there |« room 'or more to engage in dairy business. 1 will close with best regards to .our. elf and and all old friends. MRS. S. B. THORNTON.
