Calif., who had been visiting here for the past week with Mrs. Henry Wood, left for' their home Wednesday and were accompanied as far as Chicago by Mrs. Wood. Mr.*and Mrs. Bert Amsler and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Amsler antoed to Chicago and Ft. Sheridan Sunday in the former's automobile. They were joined in Chicago by two brothers of Mrs. Floyd Amsler, and spent a very pleasant day. Ed Duvall, who recently went to Lafayette tci enter Purdue and take an electrical course, but was unable to get in because of lack of some necessary credits, expects to go to Omaha next week, where his cousin, Will Duvall, is employed at electrical work, and secure employment there. A. M. Fernbach, the insurance man who recently worked the Makeever House for some $22 on a bad check, stuck the Meridian Life Insurance Company, by whom he was employed for a short time—he having presented good recomendations to said company—for some S6O for money they had advanced him. He has evidently sought other pastures, as nothing has been heard from him since he left here.
