Refuse to Call Subsidy Election for Purtelle. Richmond, Ind., August B.—The \\ ayne county boarfl of commissioners today refused to grant the prayer of one hundred petitioners of Wayne and Boston townships, to call special elections to vote on the question of subsidies for the Richmond and Hamilton Traction Company's proposed electric line. The commissioners based their action on the ground that the law was not mandatory. It was said following the meeting that signers of the petition would begin action next week to mandate the board to call special elections.
