PRESIDENT’S WIFE DEAD.

White House in Mourning and Congress Idle in Memory of Mrs. Wilson. Washington, Aug. 6.-—Mrs. Helen Louise Axsen Wilson, wife of the President of the United States, a devoted helpmate and mother, died today at the White House. The "first lady of the land” succumbed at 5 o’clock in the afternoon. The historic mansion is in mourning tonight, with President Wilson and his daughters and sons-in-law weeping over the loss they suffered, but buoyed up by the memory of the purity and sweetness of the soul that is gone The cause of Mrs. "Wilson's death was Bright s disease.
