John B. Wants His'n.

For a number of years great protests have gone up against what is known as the “mileage graft”' of Congressmen and U. S. Senators, who are allowed 20 cents per mile for traveling instead of the 2 or 2% ! cents per mile, which it actually ! costs them. The difference between the amount allowed and the actual cost of transportation is pocketed by t^, members. As will be noted in a dispatch from Washington, which appears in another column of' The Democrat, when this matter tvas up in congress a few days ago on the question of abolishing the mile-' age, or, rather, cutting it down to actual cost, all of the Indiana delegates present opposed continuing the graft except John B. Peterson, from the Tenth district.
