Miss Maud Smith visited school last Friday. C. D. Shook was in these parts last Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wiseman were Kouts goers last Monday. Mrs. Bert Vandercar was a caller at the Morehouse home Monday. Misses Ethel and Fern Custard visited friends at Kouts last Sunday.
Walter Wiseman, of Hegewisch, Hl., visited home folks Saturday and Sunday. Messrs. Bert White and Thomas Howell ate dinner at the Bancroft home last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bush and son, Billie, attended class meeting at Kersey last Sunday. When you see the young ladies making quilts, knoweth ye that Cupid is working in the hearts of the same.
Charley Gilbreath, who had his leg broken recently, is getting along nicely. We are glad to see him nearing recovery. James Gilbreath has traded his farm for a stock of general merchandise at Kouts, which he intends to transfer to Malden, where he will open up a, merchantile establishment. We wish him success.

Roy Gulp is very sick with pneumonia. Mrs. Homer Ogle is very sick at this writing. Elmer Clark was a 'Rensselaer goer Saturday. Ernest Harris was a McCoysburg goer Saturday. Goldie Beaver spent Friday night with Anna Caster. Mr. and Mrs, Will Vanatta called on? J. F. Grouns’ Sunday. Jennie Harwell called on Mabie Clark Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Rachel Sommers called on Mrs. Homer Ogle Sunday. There will be church Sunday, March 22. Everybody welcome. Charles Marchand is very sick at this writing with the pneumonia. ■Mrs. Elmer Johnson called on her mother, Mrs. Anna Chapman. Sunday. Russell and James Critser called on their sister, Mrs. John Shellheart. v Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Clark called on his brother, Branson; Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Will Havens called on Mr. and Mrs, John Havens Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, of Lee, took dinner with Mr. and Mrs. William Vanattta Friday. Mrs. William Garvin was taken to Chicago to be operated on Thursday. The last reports says she was in a very serious condition. - John Ward has moved to Rensselaer and the house he vacated is now occupied by John Havens.

A couple of Indians, a man and a woman, struck our town Wednesday evening. They belong to some show troupe. John Zellers, the sawmill man, is talking of moving his sawmill down about Kentland, when he gets through with his present job. Mrs. ike Kight left Friday evening for Lafayette and Indianapolis, where she will make an extended visit, with her son and daughter. Lona Cavinder and two daughters, Ethel and Lilly, took supper with Mrs. Charles Walker and family Thursday night. A'h the weather was fine we had the largest attendance at Sunday school Sunday morning that we have had for some time. Literary was well attended Thursday night. There will be another April 10, being the last day of school, , havipg school exercises and literary combined, the last one of the season. Everybody invited.

Several of the Laura folks attended literary at Gifford Thursday night. Guy Meyers, Miss Kate Kareh and Miss Daisy Pet tet drove to Gifford Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Braddock and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gordon and son took dinner with Mr. and Mrs. John Price Sunday. The Oak Grove school has started again with a new teacher conducting it. The old teacher, Mr. Downy, is reported to be slowly improving. ] It was given out at Gifford Thursday night that, the next literary would be April 10. They are expecting to give a good program.
