City Council Meeting.
The city council met Monday evening in regular session with all members present, and the following business was transacted: Preliminary assessments on Elm street sewer, from Forest to Dayton street, was confirmed and clerk directed to certify same over to treasurer for collection. Preliminary assessment confirmed on new street near Monon depot and on motion cit|y engineer was instructed to prepare plat of same and clerk directed to have same recorded in recorder’s office. Mayor was authorized to sign contract with property owners for extension of water main on College avenue, upon presentation of city treasurer’s receipt for said money advanced. Matter of purchasing new belt for new engine at light plant was referred to light committee with power to act. ' Moses Leopold was re-elected city attorney and filed bond of $5,000 with A. Leopold as surety. \ The usual number of claims were allowed.
