Judge Hanley held court until about 10:30 Saturda}' night to finish up the Mineral Springs race track case brought here from Lake county, and which was one of the biggest cases ever tried in this court. The argument of the host of attorneys was completed and the court took the matter of rendering a decision under advisement, and will probably hand down his finding at the February term. This was surely some lawsuit and it occupied 16 days. Several night sessions were also held. A large number of attorneys witnesses, litigants, etc., were in attendance at the long trial.

Kent was attending the cow sale here Saturday, a friend standing near him remarked incidently that he had just purchased a couple of fine ducks,
which could be seen at Taylor’s poultry establishment. This reminded Mr. Kent of his sworn duty as a game warden and that such a transaction was in violation of the federal law to kill migratory birds at this time. He went to Mr. Taylor’s place and soon had in his possession two mallard hens, which were sent to Game Commissioner Miles at Indianapolis. The ducks were obtained from Ed Raines of this place and according to Mr. Taylor’s statement had been left with the latter to be called for by some one else. The outcome of this seizure will be watched with interest by hunters all oyer Indiana, as it will be a 'test case under the new federal statute. In other states where violations have been prosecuted, in some cases the law has been upheld and in others it has been declared unconstitutional.—Monon News.
