Smith to Be Chairman.

South Bend, Ind., Jan. 12.—Perry W. Smith, of Warsaw, on February 10 will be elected republican chairman of the Thirteenth congressional district, to succeed Fred Woodward,

who will resign. Woodward, it is understood, will become the republican candidate for judge of the superior court in South Bend.
