Hanging Grove Stone Road Completed.
Herman Hordeman, who has been running the engine for the crusher at the rock pit in Hanging Grove tp., for the past three months, pulled his engine home Saturday, the IVz miles of stone road east of McCoysburg, connecting the Pleasant Ridge-McCoysburg road with the White county road into Monon, having been completed. This now gives a continuous road system east from Rensselaer to almost any desired point. The rock from which this road was built was taken from a pit nearby, and is said to be of a good quality, especially that secured below the upper strata. The pit Is now about fourteen feet deep and a pump run by a gasoline engine had to be liept going continually to keep it free of water. Herman showed us several fine pictures of the pit and crusher crew that were taken by a Monon photographer while they were at work on this job.
