City Council Proceedings.

At the regular meeting of the common council of the city of Rensselaer Monday night, all members were present except Councilman Hopkins. Not much was done except to allow the usual number of claims. In the matter of the final assessments of the College avenue and Washington street sewer, the same was continued until the next regular meeting. In the matter of the petition of Babcock & Hopkins for the narrowing of Vine street, J. C. Gwin, et a 3. filed a remonstrance and the street committee reported against the proposed narrowing. The petition was therefore dismissed. The city attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance governing the wiring of buildings in the city for electric lights.
